What is Priority baggage tagging?

Get your baggage upon arrival quickly and easily. If your luggage has “priority” tag, it will come out on the baggage belt with priority – along with business class passengers’ bags.

Kindly note that priority baggage tagging is not the same as fragile baggage handling.


Ways to book

  • At the time of booking your flight.
  • Over the ticketing counter or through our website.
  • When checking in.
  • Priority baggage tagging is free of charge for Bhutan Airlines’ passengers flying in business class.
  • Price quoted are per bag per passenger.
  • Price are subject to change and may vary due to rate of exchange.
  • In the event of system error and/or shutdown, passengers are requested to show a valid proof of purchase otherwise the service would not be delivered.
  • There is no dedicated counter for priority baggage tagging, therefore passengers who have purchased baggage tagging shall drop off their baggage at the standard check-in counter.

Refund policy:

  • Once purchased the service is non-refundable (even in the events of voluntary air ticket cancellation) unless Bhutan Airlines cancels the flight entirely.
  • In the event if Bhutan Airlines’ rebooking a passenger to a flight not operated by Bhutan Airlines, previously paid priority baggage tagging fee would be refunded.
  • Priority baggage tagging is non-refundable in case of a no-show for scheduled flights.
  • Unused priority baggage tagging cannot be refunded or used on subsequent or alternate flights.
  • In the event of ticket upgrade to higher class of travel, priority baggage tag fee BTN 500 or equivalent currency can be deducted from the fare difference.
  • In the event of ticket exchange (for reason such as upsell or voluntary travel date change), baggage priority tagging gets transferred to the new flight (if available).
  • Any request for compensation would be rejected if submitted later than one month after the date of the flight.
  • Priority baggage tagging service is non-transferable.
  • Priority baggage tagging is a service provided by third party handlers on behalf of Bhutan Airlines. In the event, if a passenger believe that promised service has not been delivered, passengers are to file a written complaint accompanied with valid evidence to support their claims. Bhutan Airlines reserves the right to analyze such cases at its sole discretion.
